When the expansive Toorak estate of late billionaire philanthropist couple Marc and Eva Besen sold a couple of weeks ago, it apparently went for around $51 million. That would make it the second-biggest property deal in Melbourne’s residential market this year.
We say apparently, because these high-end off-market sales are always shrouded in mystery until the buyer is forced to disclose the amount on settlement. At this stage, no one is willing to confirm the price.
