A rather delightful brouhaha erupted on Tuesday between the Queensland Resources Council and its largest member, BHP.

With the Sunshine State headed to the polls on October 31, the QRC has launched advertisements calling on Queenslanders to “vote Greens last”. For two weeks, BHP warned the QRC not to run a campaign “that specifically targets the overall standing of one political party”. The QRC did so anyway, and BHP suspended its membership of the industry association.
