The ATO – under new commissioner Rob Heferen – last month revealed which companies were making most use of the R&D tax credit system.

Its first-ever transparency report (in the form of an unruly 11,000-row spreadsheet) is all about increasing “public awareness” of the benefit and inviting external scrutiny about self-assessed R&D budgets. We are happy to oblige.
