ASIC’s Joe Longo sleeps on private market advice

The regulator’s chairman sought feedback from the market about private markets. Almost half is confidential.

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission had the masters of the universe over for a “symposium” on private markets in Sydney on Tuesday evening. ASIC’s Joe Longo hosted a panel with chief executive of the Future Fund, Dr Raphael Arndt, Barrenjoey’s co-executive chairman Guy Fowler and Professor Carole Comerton-Forde from the University of Melbourne.

It was followed by a panel with Apollo’s local head Matthew Michelini, BlackRock’s Jason Collins and UniSuper’s Peter Warne.
