With astonishing abruptness, Southern Cross University last week named former CPA Australia president Professor Tyrone Carlin as its new vice-chancellor.
Readers may remember Carlin as the young Macquarie University protégé of Alex Malley who joined the CPA board in 2011 and ascended to its presidency in 2016. That year Carlin also replaced Malley on the board of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand where, the joke goes, they both learnt to take the piss.
