This nation’s political tragics have been as happy as filthy pigs the last three Monday nights watching ABC’s Nemesis trilogy. Some came for the schadenfreude, others to rubberneck the Coalition’s delirious attempt at group therapy.

There were cameos from crusaders we’d long forgotten about. There was Eric Abetz and Andrew Robb, Christopher Pyne and Craig Laundy. The Coalition’s 2014 Avengers. With great power, comes great mediocrity.

An earlier version of this column claimed Courtney Morcombe  – the former chief of staff to premier Steven Marshall and wife of Senator Simon Birmingham – was working at Saab Australia in a role that was “lobbying related”.
