Sydney Metro buys towers for stations in a rising CBD market
The NSW government has agreed terms on half of the properties it needs for the second stage of the Sydney Metro, Australia's biggest public transport project.
But many of these commercial buildings have become much more valuable since the new metro stations were announced. The government's compulsory acquisitions to make way for the new stations resulted in a squeeze on office space in the CBD, which contributed to rising rents for landlords.
