Auction clearance rates nationally held steady over the past week at around 71 per cent but have fallen since the start of the year, a signal that the market may be weakening as it heads into the traditional spring selling season.

“I think now the market has now found a direction and unfortunately for property owners that direction is weaker,” SQM Research founder, Louis Christopher said.
