A contemporary Toorak mansion designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of its inhabitants has sold in an international deal where numbers – including price and settlement dates – had to be approved by the vendor’s Hong Kong-based feng shui master.
To add another layer of complexity, the four parties involved in the deal were operating in different time zones. The vendors were in Hong Kong, the purchasers in London and one of the listing agents – Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello – was on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. His co-listing agent, Sotheby’s Rob Curtain, was the only member of the negotiation team in Australia at the time of the deal.
