‘Strong spring’ for property sales is in the RBA’s hands

The auction clearance rate nationally has held steady at a healthy 71.5 per cent even as the number of properties offered ticked up and as buyers and sellers await a firmer signal on where interest rates will go next.

The preliminary success rate just pipped the previous week’s effort of 71.1 per cent. That result was achieved on a slightly higher volume of listings – 2,163 auctions compared to 2,146 the week – that was well up on the comparable week a year ago when 1,887 auctions were held, on CoreLogic data.
