NSW’s new planning rules swap unloved offices for 450 homes
The NSW government’s new fast-track planning regime has cleared the way for an extra 450 homes at a Parramatta project that otherwise may have been lumbered with an office tower struggling for tenants, its developer says.
The site at 204-205 Fitzwilliam Street, opposite the Parramatta train station and bus interchange, is one of 11 sites targeted by the Minns government, where it has seized planning control to allow for more homes than otherwise possible under local council rules.
