Nicolette Van Wijngaarden jailed for NSW's largest trust account fraud

Luxury real estate agency Unique Estates founder Nicolette Van Wijngaarden has been sentenced to three years and six months in jail after pleading guilty to a $3.69 million trust account fraud, the largest crime of its kind in NSW.
The businesswoman, who based her business in Byron Bay as well as Double Bay and Walsh Bay in Sydney, took client deposits and rents between 2016 and 2018. There was also unpaid superannuation to her employees.
