Luxury developer behind Sirius rebuild overwhelmed by debts

The family of a billionaire Chinese businessman is pushing for the developer behind the infamous Sirius building to be wound up, putting the company run by former Macquarie banker Jean-Dominique Huynh on the brink of collapse at the same time as its other big projects are seized by lenders.

Huynh’s JDH Capital is the developer behind the redevelopment of Sirius, built in 1980 beside the Sydney Harbour Bridge for public housing but sold off in 2018 for conversion into luxury apartments.
