Buyers will pay $118,000 more for energy-efficient homes

In 2021, Jenny Ku and her husband were looking for a new apartment in Liverpool. The couple was initially keen to find another two-bedroom unit in their south-eastern Sydney suburb, and started looking at apartments in the $500,000-$600,000 range.

Then they came across a development in Edmondson Park where developer Frasers Property was selling apartments off the plan – but also a new range of planned townhouses with energy efficiency features, including insulated glass, no gas connection and induction stovetops.
