Veteran businessmen Gary Weiss and Joe Gersh have promised to be peacemakers, while turning a scrupulous eye to company strategy, if, as expected, they are elected to the Cromwell Property Group's board later this month.

The well-known figures – Dr Weiss is the chairman of Ardent Leisure among other roles while Mr Gersh, an investment banker, is on the ABC board – have been nominated by Singapore's ARA Asset Management for board roles, to be voted on at a shareholder meeting called for September 18.
