When new construction company Roberts Pizzarotti arrived on the Sydney scene in early 2017 it did the opposite to what would be expected during a frenzied housing boom. It steered clear of apartments.

"Our focus is commercial, education, health and hotels ... we have steered away from residential absolutely," says Alison Mirams, chief executive of the tier-one builder.
