Sydney Metro West buyouts to create CBD strata office price increases

Almost 200 strata offices will disappear from Sydney’s CBD as part of the NSW government’s acquisition of 11 buildings to make way for Sydney Metro West station entrances in Hunter Street, creating a stock shortage that could lead to increased sale prices and rents.

Strata sales and leasing specialist Tim Noonan says three of the buildings marked for destruction at 37 Bligh Street, 300 George Street and 5 Hunter Street contain strata property valued at around $300 million, including retail spaces at locations such as the Hunter Connection food court.
