A major Sydney office deal potentially worth more than $350 million and a $1 billion development by The Star Entertainment Group have been derailed by the NSW government’s shock announcement of two new stations for the Sydney Metro West rail line.

Yet despite initial controversy over the lack of consultation, property industry reaction to the government’s compulsory acquisition of 11 commercial buildings in the CBD and two at Pyrmont has been positive.
