Private credit star Metrics is bringing cheap(er) wine to Rockpool
The founder of one of the country’s biggest non-bank lenders has his hands full overhauling Rockpool – and defending the booming sector from its critics.
Cheaper wine, live music, more tables and a new lounge on the top floor. These are the changes coming to Rockpool Bar & Grill, the country’s most famous corporate dining room under its new owner, private credit fund and alternative asset investor Metrics.
The firm, now with $22 billion in funds under management, took control of Rockpool’s owner, Pacific Hunter Hospitality, last year after Sydney buyout giant Quadrant Private Equity walked away from the company and handed the keys to lenders. Once run by celebrity chef Neil Perry, Pacific Hunter owns restaurants and entertainment venues across the country.
