Voice leaders fear delay will hurt momentum

Indigenous leaders say the Indigenous Voice to parliament referendum cannot afford to be pushed back to the next election as the government considers a timetable that will deliver a vote within 12 months.
The Uluru Dialogue and the Indigenous Law Centre of UNSW will brief the government this week on an amendment to the Constitution that has been developed with leading silks and judges, along with a draft referendum bill.
