Victorian teal candidates are racing towards six figures in their fundraising efforts despite strict donation caps and a much shorter run-up than their federal counterparts enjoyed.

Publicly available data from the Victorian Electoral Commission shows that the teal candidate for the east Melbourne seat of Kew, Sophie Torney, has raised $79,487 in disclosable donations from 24 people.
