More than 100 executives are pocketing on average $322,000 a year to work on Victoria’s controversial Suburban Rail Loop, according to the megaproject’s annual report, leading state Opposition Leader John Pesutto to accuse the Allan government of delivering a “gravy train”.
One of more than 100 reports tabled to state parliament on Thursday, colloquially known as “dump day”, the rail loop authority reported that Victorian taxpayers paid more than $32.9 million to 102 executives last financial year, making for an average of $322,000 a head.
