South-east Qld faces likely lockdown extension

South-east Queensland’s eight-day lockdown is looking like it will be extended after the COVID-19 cluster in Brisbane continues to grow by another 16 new cases on Wednesday, and with infectious cases still out and about in the community.

While Queensland Health authorities were also investigating a new case in Cairns which was not linked to the Indooroopilly cluster, Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said there were now 100 active cases in Queensland – the largest since the beginning of the pandemic.
