Sackings hurt Victoria's technology push

Victoria's push for regional information technology centres has been set back by AAPT's decision to sack about 380 workers from a call centre in Bendigo, one of the state's largest regional cities.
Opposition spokesman Louise Asher said it was "another failure" of the state government's policy to improve industry innovation, develop new investment opportunities and boost the competitive capacity of country Victoria.
