Queensland Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington was in a buoyant mood on the campaign trail in central and north Queensland this week, despite the Liberal National Party facing the prospect of another defeat in the state election on October 31.

The looming election loss next Saturday – which would confine the conservatives to the opposition benches for all but five of the past 35 years in the Sunshine State – appears to be the last thing on Frecklington's mind as her campaign bus weaves its way down the picturesque coastline near Yeppoon in central Queensland.
