P.J. O'Rourke: an election scenario that is beyond satire

"So there is this US presidential race where two desperately despised candidates have to mobilise the most voters that hate them the least. Not even P.J. O'Rourke could make this up," I say to P.J. O'Rourke, who is sitting on the other side of the table.
He is quick to confirm that this is true. He couldn't have made the 2016 election up. "It is putting satirists out of work," he complains.
