John Pesutto, the new Victorian opposition leader, has hinted he would dismantle plans to revive the State Electricity Commission and says Premier Daniel Andrews is a hypocrite for characterising himself as anti-privatisation.
Mr Pesutto, 52, went from being a member of the public to opposition leader in one “frenetic” week last year after winning the leafy east Melbourne seat of Hawthorn. He edged out Brad Battin by a single vote to replace Matthew Guy at the helm of a broken Liberal Party.
