NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has stared down calls to stand aside Trade Minister Stuart Ayres as an integrity crisis sparked by John Barilaro’s appointment to a US trade post deepens.

Mr Perrottet resisted calls to dump the embattled minister on Monday as he returned from a 10-day regional trade mission and faced separate bushfires relating to Mr Ayres and bullying claims inside the office of former fair trading minister Eleni Petinos.
