Perfect homes to revive Sydney’s ‘missing middle’ and pacify NIMBYs

Sleek modern terraces and walk-up flats with natural light, rooftop areas, and drought-resistant gardens are part of NSW Planning Minister Paul Scully’s vision for higher-density development in inner and middle Sydney that NIMBY-inclined residents can live with.

The Minns government is working with councils on more ambitious goals to meet the state’s share of new housing targets under the National Housing Accord. It is also planning changes to revive Sydney’s “missing middle” of terraces, semis and walk-up flats located close to jobs and transport.
