NSW entangled in battle of the parking apps
Parking app operators have accused the NSW government of pushing local councils into using its Park’nPay app which is being run by a private equity-backed rival who won the lucrative support contract without tender.
The government has been competing in council tenders to offer its smartphone-enabled parking payment and enforcement platform and app. The platform is managed by Duncan Solutions, which is owned by Jeremy Samuel’s Sydney-based Anacacia Capital and operates about 75 per cent of all parking meters across Australia.
