The former mayor of Logan, one of Queensland’s biggest cities, has pleaded guilty to taking secret commissions after corruptly accepting a boat while in office.

The admission marks a high-profile scalp for the state’s Crime and Corruption Commission, which has had a potted record of prosecutions about alleged local government wrongdoing.
