Liberals claim historic third-term win in Tasmania

Tasmanian Liberal Premier Peter Gutwein won a historic third term for the party in a historically left-wing state that rewarded him for an economic resurgence and successful management of the coronavirus pandemic.
With 80 per cent of votes counted before updates were suspended around midnight on Saturday, the Liberal government was one seat short of the 13 it needs for a majority in the House of Assembly.
