The number of coronavirus cases in Greater Sydney and south-east Queensland worsened on Wednesday as restrictions failed to stop the community spread of the highly infectious delta strain of COVID-19.
With more than 10 million people in NSW and Queensland in prolonged lockdowns, there are growing fears the current restrictions will have to be extended in both states.
