Kean elected NSW deputy leader as Perrottet steadies ship

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has tapped former ICAC inspector Bruce McClintock to examine whether former trade minister Stuart Ayres breached ministerial guidelines in John Barilaro’s appointment to a US trade post, on the same day that Treasurer Matt Kean was elected Liberal Party deputy leader.

NSW Liberals put on a united front on Tuesday after the party unanimously elected Mr Kean as its deputy, following a one-horse race for the role vacated last week by Mr Ayres.
