The department secretary who appointed John Barilaro to a prestigious US trade post has left the NSW public service just under three months after the former deputy premier handed the job back amid allegations of jobs for mates.

Former Investment NSW chief executive Amy Brown has announced that Monday will be her last day serving as secretary of the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade.
