Retail and industrial giant Wesfarmers supports an Indigenous Voice to parliament says chairman Michael Chaney, who reveals the company’s advocacy for the referendum stems from its own experience working with Indigenous staff to tailor jobs and training to better suit teams in remote areas.

Perth-based Mr Chaney, who rose to chair Wesfarmers after an earlier, 13-year stint serving as it chief executive from 1992, is one of the latest appointments to a federal body co-ordinating the Yes campaign, known as Australians for Indigenous Constitutional Recognition.
