Discount chain Aldi says it won’t compete with Coles and Woolworths in the online grocery shopping boom, telling a competition inquiry the move would undercut its position as the cheapest supermarket.

The German-owned chain has more than 10 per cent market share in Australia and about 600 stores around the country.
