Liberal leader Sussan Ley has nominated aspiration as the theme around which her party needs to rebuild its shattered fortunes after it was “smashed” at the May 3 federal election.
In a speech to the National Press Club on Wednesday – the first by a Liberal leader since Scott Morrison in February 2022 – Ley will say her mission is to rebuild the party so it offers a viable alternative at the next election, no matter how slender its prospects.
