Mark McGowan’s shock decision to keep Western Australia’s borders closed beyond next month looks set to thwart the election campaign plans of Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese.
The WA Premier said booster uptake needed to be higher before quarantine-free travel with the eastern states would be allowed as part of plans to keep out the deadly omicron variant.
