Victoria’s returned Liberal leader Matthew Guy has promised a positive election campaign including getting children back to school, reuniting families, restarting major events and letting Victorians return home, after leader Michael O’Brien was dumped ahead of the next state election.

Months of frustration by opposition MPs in response to the dominance of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews came to a head on Tuesday with a spill motion to remove Mr O’Brien as leader.
