Vic mandates masks as it loses control of virus

Millions of people in Melbourne face $200 fines if they leave their homes without a mask and authorities will crack down hard on businesses flouting rules as Victoria appears to be losing control of the stubbornly high spread of the virus in the community

Premier Daniel Andrews said that from midnight on Wednesday wearing a face mask would be mandatory in Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire for anyone 12 or older.
