Travel restart unlikely in 2021: Health boss

Australians are likely to be blocked from most international travel until at least 2022, with Health Department boss Brendan Murphy warning substantial border restrictions and hotel quarantine rules will remain in place this year.

Despite the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines gaining pace around the world and carriers including Qantas reopening international travel bookings for flights from July, Professor Murphy said the risk would likely remain too great.
