On Wednesday afternoon, Health Minister Mark Butler shared the good news with 15 million Australians that their already bloated health insurance premiums will rise by an “average” of “just” 3.73 per cent from April 1.
Given the nation is about to plunge headlong into an election campaign that will be fought principally over the cost of living, it made sense to get it done sooner rather than later.
