Thousands of people rallied in Sydney and Melbourne on Sunday to support Palestinians who are potentially in the line of fire from Israeli military reprisals against the deadly militant attacks launched from Gaza.

Organisers of the Sydney rally said Palestinians were “facing genocide” and the “biggest threat to our existence since 1948″ as Israeli air strikes prepared the way for an expected ground invasion of Gaza.
