A week is certainly a long time in Australian politics. The first week abruptly shifted Labor from being the odds-on favourite to the challenger under pressure from a stayer gaining ground.
This coming week means Anthony Albanese will not only have to inflict more political pain on the Prime Minister than on himself, he will also have to belatedly define himself far more clearly rather than waiting for Scott Morrison to take every opportunity every day to do it for him.
