Taxpayers to fund $850m for long-range missile factory in NSW

Taxpayers will spend $850 million on a factory near Newcastle to build long-range strike missiles, with the first to be delivered in 2027.

In the latest measure to establish guided weapons production in Australia, Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy announced the deal with Norwegian arms manufacturer Kongsberg.
