States evade scrutiny under COVID inquiry

The imposition by state governments of lockdowns, school closures, vaccine mandates and state border closures will be exempt from the Albanese government’s long-awaited inquiry into the COVID-19 pandemic.

The terms of reference released Thursday by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Health Minister Mark Butler, says, “actions taken unilaterally by state and territory governments” are “not in scope for the inquiry”.
