Silks call for body to run civil cases for sex assault victims
Leading human rights lawyer Geoffrey Robertson, QC, has called for a revamp of support for victims of sexual assault to enable them to better pursue civil penalties from their alleged perpetrators, saying it would help them get compensation as the criminal system is stacked against them.
This would be especially true in cases of workplace harassment or assault, Mr Robertson, said, as employers’ pockets were often deeper than those of the accused.
