It seems very likely that by the end of next month Boris Johnson will be the prime minister of Great Britain and yet another big mouth will join the growing ranks of noisy nationalists beginning to crowd the world stage.

Johnson stands out in the British Conservative Party’s leadership contest in the same way that Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Viktor Orban, Rodrigo Duterte, Jair Bolsonaro and Recep Tayyip Erdogan now standout as “strongman” leaders of their countries.
