Rapid HIV tests pitched to deal with pandemic decline

The company behind Australia’s first at-home HIV testing product says governments should consider reimbursing people who buy kits at local pharmacies, as part of efforts to tackle a significant fall in surveillance testing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Atomo Diagnostics last year won approval from the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for the sale and promotion of its HIV Self-Test rapid finger-prick kit, coinciding with the use of at-home rapid COVID-19 testing products.
